Stream Conditions?

Still hoping to make a trip up on Monday.  How are the conditions on Elk and Walnut versus the mile creeks?  Any info would be useful.  Thanks!!!

From the looks of the USGS graphs walnut looks like it will be fishable. Just make sure Erie doesn't get to much rain.

actually after 5am the rain is predicted to go away....
John check the gauges in the morning before you go.  My guess is if erie does get more rain overnight elk will not fish tomorrow, but eastside water will be a bit high and ill bet u can find a creek that will fish, and maybe even walnut later in the day.  It is gonna be cold but if u got nothing better to do why not?
I cant emphasize enough, pay attention to the gauges, they are the best indicator.
    I would go if i could, but i can't, so i wont

Go. We had an epic day on one of the mile streams today. Conditions were perfect on this east side trib.

If it is up a lot in the morning then don't go, if it has only risen a little then I am sure it will be fine, I live two hours away and each trip I take I look to see how walnut is flowing to decide if it is worth it or not. The creeks are ever changing, rain and snow melt have a big impact and unless someone has driven past it recently they won't know without looking at this either.

If people would learn how to read the guages it would make your fishing so much more successful.

    1. Go Fishing
    2. If water is IDEAL
    3. Read Guage and Write down the Readings
    4. BAM- Now you know when streams are perfect too fish

Is Walnut the only Erie trib with a gauge?  Because I have an App on my phone (Droid Razr) called River Flows and have all my favorite locals plugged as favorites and was curious if I can get more streams near Erie to peg as a favorite to monitor.

Brandy run is the elk gauge.  Usually walnut levels out a half a day earlier than elk.  So if walnut is perfect elk will still be a bit high.

So what are the upper and lower ranges for Walnut for reasonable fishing.

cbeagler it's called "River Watch" it works on Android I know for sure... I wouldn't buy the widget (idk wtf it does different) but the regular free version works just fine, you can favorite your favorite places and it usually has all the necessary info you need.. IE: Streamflow (CFS) Water temp is in Celsius, some gauges have barometric pressure and rain gauges as well as dissolved oxygen and turbidity, PH and Specific Conductance (idk if that's a fisherman tool or not) lol

Also is Brandy's Run a stream that flows into Elk because it says the flow is 6.7 CFS which is like 10x less then Walnut is atm...
