ICE fishing @ laurel hill state park

 buddy and i  are head n up  sat  morning .
just wounder n if anyone been out on lake yet  ? thanks

    I haven't been to laurel hill yet. I would guess it's frozen, but I can't say for sure. I've been fishing at acme dam and it's not as high in elevation as laurel hill. Be safe.

    If you have facebook. You can ask the park office if anyone has been out fishing. they don't monitor the ice, but would know if people where fishing.

    went out to lake this am  had a couple bites but no fish landed. was still
    a great morning to be on ice ...

    How much ice is there, and what part of the lake did you fish?

    about 15 foot off front of docks towards center of lake ice was a good 5 inches.
     There were 4 other guys out 2 were there before we arrived. The other 2 moved around alittle towards the center but said ice furthur out wasnt that great but all fished infront of docks...

    Why can't you fish Kooser through the ice ?

    I have never seen anyone step foot on that lake. Its very unpredictable. I think a lot has to do with the spring water fed into the lake from above and underneath. It is always the last to freeze and first to thaw.

    As far as I know. The State Park won't let you on Kooser to ice fish.

    Thats what I was asking Jeremy, why they don't allow it. Not, why "don't" you fish there. Haha...
