Delayed Harvest Areas

there are still plenty of fish out there.  this is one of the best times of the year to hit up the dh streams.  most guys are out hunting in the fall so a lot of those stocked trout that are put in during the fall survive till winter.

Instead of fishing the DH areas around here, I ended up going and fishing several native brookie streams in the somerset area.  The water was a little high and stained, which made it ideal water conditoins for catching these spookish, selective little fish.  I fished the dry dropper method all day and the natives were picking up that dropper like they have never seen a bug before. Fished 5 different native streams and probably caught somewhere around 30 fish all day most were only a couple inches, but I managed to catch the biggest native ive ever caught at 14 inches even.  unfortunatley i forgot my gopro hero 3 camera at home so i didnt get any pictures which i was pretty bummed about.  Ended  up being one of the best native trout days ive ever had in my entire life.  That 14 inch fish was an absolute monster and it was in a stream that isnt stocked just all natives, I wish i could of got a picture of that fish.
