Acme Dam/Greenlick
I'll be coming home from college for Thanksgiving break and I only have time to hit one of these lakes. So my question is, is anyone out there fishing either of these two places for bass, and if so are you doing any good? Not asking for any details just wondering which place I should hit up when I get home. Thanks guys

They did a big draw down on donegal. I haven't been to either lake to fish in awhile. I would guess you need waders for the mud at donegal. Acme is the same as always.

What is the reason for the drawdown? That is one of my favorite local lakes. I was hoping to go there this week but it doesn't look like I will be. Maybe I'll hit Acme. Haven't been fishing in months. Hopefully the drawdown kills some of the weeds over by the dam wall. It was getting bad.

first off. I should have been talking about greenlick and not donegal. My bad. I did stop by donegal yesterday. It's very fishable from shore. I might go out there in a little while. My friend and I did pretty well @ greenlick yesterday afternoon. we caught only perch, but 1 of them was 12" and nearly 1lb. That one was a big fat female, probably loaded down with eggs. If I go to donegal today, I'll post how well I did.

Greenlick was stocked with Walleye for a while. I have caught a few but mostly fishing for Crappies. They were pencil thin and really lethargic. Anyone know about the Walleyes or do any good there? Some guys you talk to there say they killing them and others never even knew Walleyes were in there.

I forgot to post how I did at donegal. I kept getting mangy old trout. Brownies actually. They kept taking a 3" gulp minnow about 8' below a slip float. I've seen some nice eyes pulled out of greenlick. The biggest I caught there was 13". I have seen them into the 20's there, but never caught any that big.

In the spring I usually catch a few nice eyes throwing sticks after dark. However this year I did very poorly only getting two in the 16 inch size. Problem is with a small lake like that all it takes is a day or two of good catching and most, if not all, of the decent size fish are gone. I don't keep any fish from there I just like to catch them, goes for bass also.

I might get one mounted here before long though, if I can get a nice sized one.

I've never kept anything but Bluegills from Greenlick and just a few for Flathead bait.

I caught a flathead once (Sept 1997) at Greenlick, twenty seven pound on a night crawler fishing for bass. Had it weighed, measured, took some pix and released it back into the lake.

Did you happen to take that fish over to the old bait shop at greenlick? I remember back in the day, they had a pic of a flathead around that size that they said came out of greenlick.
