Buck Down

Was in my stand early Wednesday evening.  Around 5 pm was watching three deer in the field.  Was planning on shooting a doe when it came in range.  I glanced behind the three deer and behind them was four more deer.  Then all of a sudden the deer scattered.  Figured there was a buck coming.  About two seconds later this buck came up running and grunting.  As luck would have it he stopped about 15 yards from me.  I fired the crossbow and heard the familiar thump of a hit.   I watched the buck run down the field about  80 yards and dropped in the snow.  After I calmed down I climbed down and retrieved my arrow.   Seeing I had a good hit I went back to get help.  Found him laying at the bottom of the field.  Not the biggest buck on the farm but not bad for my first archery buck.  8 point with a 15 1/2 inch inside spread.  Weighed about 170.

Congrats to all who harvest a nice Buck- Its a great thing to go out and get a trophy after all the planning and practice- not to mention the hard earned cash spent on equipment.
Another big congrats to all those sitting back keeping their mouths shut who took Skippers and wont admit it. Have done so by choice many times.
Big doe- little skipper- I'll take the skipper
They eat better  than all the others. Choices Choices--lol.
Can just see the backroom at the Club  with a sign called 'honesty'-- buncha folding chairs all in a big circle--first guy- head hung low says- " my name is Doug and I shoot skippers"

Congratulations George on killing a fine deer. Nice rack! As I said in my e-mail to you, I'm jealous.
