The bear eats twobob
why do i not trust my judgement. went to the river todat and got 1 pull in an hour and a half. i didn't see another person the whole time i fished. i could have stayed put and maybe waited till a new run moved in. i could have gone to the hreshly opened petting zoo. i could have poked around mid river. but i didn't . i second guessed myself and went were i was tues. tues there were 4 cars counting mine. today 27. there were fish but little room to fish. lifters, liners, with a few fishermen mixed in. fish scared of their own shadow. i was fed up in about an hour and came home. i never did feel in sync today. like i wasn't supposed to be fishing. like i was never going to figure it out. very strange day. i haven't had one like it in a long time.

Sucks getting old! And it was Thursday, you are in a Tuesday groove. And word travels fast even without the interweb. I've heard about that spot from 3 other people who don't normally fish, but saw neighbors or co workers with fish. Good side is, it can only get better! L13

The petting zoo or mid to up river would have been good choices, but at least you got out unlike some others including me.I spent the afternoon cutting up trees that Sandy knocked over for firewood.Everytime I spend some time with the chain saw it gives me a appreciation for how hard a logger works.

Depends on how I feel. Sometimes I fight the pressure, sometimes I give up #'s for a little peace. Really sucks when everyone around you is hooking up and your not, especially if they are rippers

Looking in my tackle bag I'm often torn between two choices for the river. Tazer or bear spray? Obviously, you made the wrong choice today. Next Tuesday may put you back in form, you were this past one.

Sucks twobob. Did you know the lfz unofficial opening was yesterday 10/31 with only 7 anglers. I bet it was well above 27 today or maybe they all went to your spot instead.

yea i knew it opened but figured it to be chock full of chuckers and since its the wrong way to were i ended i didn't give it a peak. hhope next time is better. might well be my last trip for the year. the one pull i had was half hearted unlike the rips i was getting last week and MY informent tells me he hooked a dozen the day before and only one went airborne. could be turning into winter mode as i type. i rarely drive that far for winter fish. i can usually find enough without using the gas anyway.

don't think it was lurkers since i didn't give details about where i fished. it is well known spot and more like the cell phone tree was lit up like christmas. i saw lots of cell phone pics being taken and people on their phones yesterday anyway.

I went back and looked at the post again. I don't think it took Columbo to figure it out if you looked at the parking lot pix and the text. But word of mouth filled that spot quickly even before cell phones and discussion boards. It' like the Archers club too many fisdh and thern perople for the available water. L13

don't think pirot was needed to figure it out but if you don't already know it i didn't give nothin away. named a couple lake front towns one of which has a trib with an ashpalt lot much like the one i showed, don't think the pic of the lot had a lot of detailed scenery to give much of a clue. it is the fact that it has too little water that is the problem. same can be said of any of the pits trickles that get lake runs. - but it comes down to i should have stayed were i was but i let myself talk me out of it. fishing alone can do that to you and when you don't have another person in sight so you don't have a chance to see another person in the area hook up it can happen to quickly. blaming no one but me. question for people i didn't have pm chats with. pm me as to where i was.

It is interesting how what we see of what others are doing influences our perceptions. Yesterday, I blew out of work early and headed to a local stream that had been at flood stage Tuesday and Wednesday, but was getting back to reasonable levels. There were a few guys in the pool adjacent to the parking lot, and I went to the other side of the stream. Nice tailout to swing a fly through. One of the guys across and up in the falls hooks a nice 7-8 lber, then the guy across from me hooks up, then a retired engineer I know hits a brown. Then I'm into a big strong fish who immediately heads for the tailout lip, and I don't feel like chasing around trees and over the boulders, so I threw slack, and it was the 20% of the time when it doesn't work, so bye bye. While I'm tying up, a guy up at the head of the pool hits another one (they were all fishing bobbers and eggs), and on one of my first drifts, I was into another one that threw the hook after a fast run across the pool. All this lasted about 20 minutes. After that it died right down. About 10 minutes later, a new egger shows up, fishes for about 10 minutes, and then disgustedly packs up and leaves. I imagine he went home and told everyone there were no fish in "nopaddle creek" yet, while the rest of us probably rearranged plans for today to allow us to hit it again in hopes of another pod coming through like that. I can relate. She just left for a shop til you drop at Christmas Village in Hamburg, and I'm on my way to the basement to do another load of wash! But I will sneak out later, and she was willing to let me go up north, but my truck was saying things to me that did not bode well for a long trip. If I break down at one of the local waterholes, AAA will get me, but if I break down up north, Clyde's Garage and Jiffylube enters the picture, and possibly another orifice, financially! L13
