What sucks about it - the actual design of the ladder or the fact that 4 Mile's a bad location for this?  Or both?

I know nuttin' about 4 mile (fished there once, maybe 6 years ago).  Just curious.

Besides the debris, I hear the steelhead are having a hard time turning the turnstile on the upper ladder by the practice green.

So what you're saying is no fish in the gorge?

I saw one ladder this past summer, but theoretically how far do they think they can go up?  I lived in Hootervile and used to walk the footbridge to school everyday.  Are they trying to get them up that far?  The Napier area not quite as far?  I haven't been there in 20 years and have no idea of the pfbc abilities but Edison park would be a great place to develop as an access point.

I think a deflector a foot or two in front of the ladder would help.
Genie, no way fish get up the dam without the ladder.

I agree the ladder does get clogged an awful lot even though fish have been getting up. Was there yesterday there was some nice spacing

The first steelhead I ever caught in four mile was just above the dam long before the ladder was there. We used to watch them swim up the spillway when the flow was right. You'd be surprised what obstacles they can get past.

There were fish up to that foot bridge last year.

Skip, do you think they will ever finish the construction project at the Rt. 5 bridge, whatever it is?  They have been  working on it for 7 months.
