Trout Run Today October 30 2012

Walnut Access was still closed so I went to Trout Run.  The waves were not as big as I thought but I did get some pics of the creek. As you can see, in heavy water the steelhead remain in the creek but move to the side out of the faster current.  Sadly I did see a lot of dead smolt.

    Wow.

Were the smolts steelies or browns?  The last time I went to Trout Run(3 weeks ago) I saw tons of small browns.  Either way not good.

Thanks for the pix. I kinda wondered what trout run looked like during a significant rain.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Lots of brownies and some bows too. They were washed up on the beach in the debris line. My guess is they could not take the flow, got pushed to the lake and were just pounded to death.
