can anyone identify the steelie strain?

Different strain?
or just an anomaly/genetic oddball from the pack ?

this fish was pulled  from Connie on JUNE 3rd in the late 80s...
appx 12-15 creek  miles upstream in a 5-6ft deep hole
She  was 30 inches long, but only weighed 6 pnds
Never seen a spawned out  Manistee strain (what Ohio stocks) that skinny, that clean and that unscarred  that late in the season .

Does that fish look like it's been  on the redds?? (like a Spring run Ohio fish should at that time of year)
fins and tail don't look like it to me (but I'm a fish dOpe)  and will let the smart fishguys tell me

The only FAKX i has iz;
it was the skinniest  steelie I've ever caught
The cleanest/unscathed  for  that time of year
and the latest in the season

Did Ohio used to stock Little Manistees back then, or did they stock a different strain?

I'm guessing an oddball or maybe a Skamania possibly.  To me it does look a little spawned out, so it could just be a skinny dropback.

    It's an Eelbow.

    I'd say it's a slightly confused Skamania.

The ones I've seen (not many) are typically longer and skinny like that.

thought the same thing... but June 3rd is about 5 weeks too early
essp with the distance from the lake at low flows..

I'd say spring run dropback looking for a way to get home
