Unfortunately, it's going to put alot of water in places we neither need, nor want it.

I have a feeling it will be short lived.  With how much of a drought the middle of the country had, I think the USACE might still want to pull from our state's reservoirs.  Just about every lake that I have fished this summer/fall could use a bit of a topping off!  Maybe this is it?  At the very least, it will cool them off and clear some of the dead vegetation, and at least make it feel like November fishing.

Hopefully my basement/garage isn't one of them...

That one of many great attributes to my location. It might flood, but you better be bulding a big boat & rounding up critters if it does.

Good luck guys. Hope all the water goes to the lakes and stays out of your property. That's the only bad thing about a lot all at once. Be safe!

Just checked the stream flow of Loyalhanna creek on the USGS website. About an hour ago it was saying 1700cfs, just a little over an hour later it's up to 2680cfs.  That's really high considering that most of the time the gauge barely reads 100cfs at Kingston.

Yough was getting up there this AM on my drive over.  It was almost up to the culvert by the gas station on the buena vista side.  I am sure it will be rising for awhile, too.  All the streams heading into it were raging.

So anyone tried any fishing since Sandy moved on? Thinking about hitting up some places on the Ohio river tomorrow, but only places I can easily access. I'm in no adventure mode with the currents that must be rocking through there. Just not sure if the fishing will even be on yet, lots of rain, cold front...

I'd be at a creek mouth tomorrow if I didn't work. High water can really concentrate fish.

Be careful if you're wading, sure to be lots of new logs to trip over, and the current my be very strong in some places! But I betcha the eyes start biting very soon.

I second the creek mouth comment on high water.  Much safer to fish in high water too.

I fished the Allegheny Sat. at an undisclosed tributary and struck out...  The main river is very muddy and filled with debris; but the creeks feeding the river are running clear thus forming a nice breakline of clear/muddy water.  There was clear water where I fished,  but I couldn't buy a bite...

It looks like no rain for the next week or so, so hopefully the rivers will be down to fishable levels.  Now should be the time when the bite really heats up.  The water temps right now are about ideal...
