I stole some of Ironheds "hot spot" info, and caught this just outside of the perch pack..



I love cats. I just can't eat a whole one..

    Sweet! Were you able to make it back up there this year? I am looking to book a trip in the future and wanted to find a decent lodge with even better fishing opportunities....Were you happy with the trip?

    Now that'll make a fish sammich... Definitely on my bucket list...

    Curiosity killed the cat, but for awhile I was a suspect.

    Don't get too excited. I am sure it was just a fluke.
    Still might try just for the halibut.

    yummy..and you don't have to know "just how to cook it right" 
     
    what kind of tackle 'n tactics   are used to fish the bays ?
    (or are they caught in the  ocean proper?)

    Yep, Mid September and spent 11 days up there...  Went via and did a couple of lodge inspections..  We will be adding two properties to our portfolio shortly.  One on Kodiak, and one near Iliamna.  This year was the first year the weather kicked our butts...hard.  Had a 4 day stretch where the wind never dropped below 50.  
     
    I'll get the pictures and video organized and get a thread up in a couple of weeks.

    genieman77, that fish came out of 110' of water within sight of land just outside of Yakutat bay.  It really was like perch fishing, only we were using 50 wt. rigs and whole salmon carcasses and rock fish for bait.  I'll get a picture thread up.  Give me some time...  (there's white tails that need 'killin)
