CREATURE REPORT

Got there yesterday and started fishing arounf 1. knocked the crap out of the kings. I caught 1 huge male and must have fought him for 20 minutes. I landed 7 and my buddy landed 4 or 5. We left before dark and slept good. Headed to the black hole this AM. was one of the 1st down there. my buddy landed 4 or 5 and i landed 3. saw lots of fish and people. some didn't care that we were there first. Met Jon from maine. NIce guy. I took some pics for him of his steelhead. There were several steelhead and cohos caught. There was also a rainbow caught. about 20 inches. The Dsr guy said it was not a steelie. grew tired of the crowds and drove around awhile. There were people everywhere. Ellis cove was packed to the a__. so we founds a shadey spot upstream. couldn't catch anything unless in the fast water. fish very lineshy. i was down to 8 pound at one point. Pretty day on the river. nice fall colors and fish jumping all over the place, just hard to hook.

    Sounds like a great time, except the few morons. Glad you got yourself a freight train and enjoyed the colors.

    I'll tell ya Fichy it was a beaut of a day. We just had a hell of a time hooking up in the afternoon. They were in that slower water . so we went for rapids or faster deep water and finally began to hook up again. BUt then it was time to go. Did stop at PIneville shop. Had another great experience there. I can say enough good things about those guys. Helpful, informative, and not pushey, and no attitude. Folks get up there while you can and If you were ever going to take a kid fishing this would be a great opportunity.

    Salmon Season Mentality: No matter what time you got there they will always be close enough to reach into your pocket to hand you something if your hands are already busy..........

       Its that time of year. Just need to walk the unbeaten path to find a little piece and quiet.

    heading out a zero dark thirty hope to be on the river at first lite  holiday is over and maybe the crowds are gone  re lined going to try for some trout this time
    wooly buggers and stones also going to try some sucker spawn  let me know if anyone has some other tips to share  always open for new knowledge

      I'd try pale eggs  in pink, oregon cheese, apricot, and blue. Of course, wtf do I know, I'm here and you'll be there.  Good luck.

    Your advice is always valued.. Those are sound tactics for trout..
     
    Salmon if so the target, Pizz them off on Redds.. Been a long time since this year but it's all the same.. 
    Fish them low with Flash.. Shoot a month ago we caught "dead " kings on  the lake trolling spin doctors and fly.. Yes Caught..
    Now why not now in the low river ? 
     
    Once they dig.. Dig them back.. Crayfish, stones and any natural invasive...  It's about protect and preserve.. 
     
    Trout.. hummmm.. Simple stuff.. EGGS !!!
