Drawdowns for weeds

Wasn't sure if anyone really noticed this or if it just didn't get much attention but didn't they just draw down Highpoint within the past 3-5 years or am I just being very forgetful.  As for Donegal I think this is a great thing, now if I could only find one of those illusive Saugeye or Tiger Musky there I'd be all set, but after this from the PFBC I will be kinda bummed because I have will only have Laurel Hill for Trout when I actually want to fish for them.

High point has been drawn down twice in the past 6 years or so.

A park ranger at Laurel Hill told me last week they are drawing the lake down 5 feet sometime this fall so they can re-do the beach.  She told me to call the park office and they might know when, but I didn't bother.  If your bringing a boat from any distance you might want to call and see when it's being done.  Not sure if a boat could be launched from the breast if the lake was down that much.

It's fairly deep down by the launch I think, but man that's gonna screw up fishing in the back end if it's that low... Now I gotta find somewhere else to get my 3-5 trout a year... =/

I think certain weedy lakes, like High Point, Cranberry, and Donegal, are on a long term plan to draw them down every other winter.

As much as I love cranberry the weeds are HORRIBLE I love the lilies don't get me wrong but the whole lake full of them?  It' gotta be a problem somewhere for some fish even though there are some real pigs in there...  I just am glad that it's not a highly fished place because it's so far off the path.  And the last resort place for a trout for me is Yough Dam and i've never... Caught a fish there... I think i'm not good enough lol...
