Ten Mile

Me and my buddy fished at ten mile last night for a couple hours, managed to get a little walleye and a real tiny white bass.  I saw 2 guys trolling for muskies, they said they got one but it wasn't that big.  I didn't know there were any in there so that was pretty cool to hear.  I was wondering if anyone knew of any other places to fish there besides the county park.  It just seems like alot of the shoreline is boat docks and private property.  I wish there was a place to keep the yak at school.  I think it'd be a great place to use it.

I use to fish there when I was a kid and we always went to the park.  But upon recent inspection after checking out Lake Lynn a few weeks back it looks like if you can find somewhere to park you can easily scale the rocks down and fish under the RT88 bridge that crosses the creek right by one of the marinas.  I'm not 100% sure how deep it is there, I'm assuming fairly deep and not 100% sure of the grade the rocks are on so I'd be very careful attempting that.  But there is pretty much anything in 10 mile that is in the Mon.  Also if you don't mind taking alittle walk, judging by the street view on google maps you could possibly fish the mouth of the creek near the train bridge, but again i'm not 100% sure of that either.

When you say Lake Lynn, where are you referring to?

OK. The reason I asked is I have a camp in WV. I used to go down 857 before they opened the highway. I went a back way once that had me turn left off of 857. It took me up past a small lake with cabins or cottages around it. That way took me into Bruceton Mills. Always wondered about that little lake. Wondered if anyone can fish it or if it was private.

I fish the north branch of 10 mile all the way up to Marianna, plenty of access if you ask permission, theres plenty of nice smallmouth, saugers, crappie, occasional trout, carp and catfish in the deeper holes, anywhere above Marianna i never do well as the stream gets smaller the closer it nears I 79, use rapalas and small plastics of natural colors.

Shake n Bake.. I fish Ten Mile quite often. And yes it is a great place to kayak.. I landed a huge channel cat on mine and it was a thrill.. it was upstream from park. Let me know if you want to go and I'd throw a line in sometime soon.

why not approach one of the marinas and maybe offer $10 / month or just check someone local that has a garage that you could use.  Hell u could put in at cal and just fish the mon rather than using the gas to get to 10 mile.  see if someone has a boat in their yard and they may be open to storing your yak

The county park is one very small part of the watershed. There are miles and miles of water upstream. Fishing used to be a lot better throughout. It's gone way downhill in recent years with all the environmental degradation that has occurred in the area. The recent contamination from an old mine in Clarksville has really done a number on the section you mentioned in particular. There are still many fish though.
