Creek Chubs

I have a local spot that produces various size creek chub. Mainly 3" but I can get some 4-6er's as well. Does anyone else use creek chub for bait? if so are they effective and what do they work for? Would they be any good to use on local lakes. I understand not do dump left over live bait into the lake because it could have serious repercussions. I.E the gizzard shad in Wilhelm.
 
I have used them at the river with some success on catfish and smallmouth. But was wondering if they had any effectiveness on local lakes.

    I've used creek chubs all of my life. They work great for Largemouth, pike, musky, cats, walleye, etc. Anything that will take a minnow will take a chub. It just depends on size.

    I've caught everything from blue gill and crappie to flatheads and muskie on creek chubs. They're pretty much my number 1 go to bait for anything predatory. Big ones work great for lm bass in lakes. Just a hook through the lips toss em out and reel it back real slow. No float, no weight.

    Thanks fella's I think i'll give em' a  shot this weekend. I'll get a good mix of small to large and see what works best.

    Chubs & Suckers are a native species to our water systems, you don't have to worry about any repercussions.
