Looking Forward To Another Good Time On The Salmon
Coming up on the 3rd for 3 wks. Last year was great and, I'm looking forward to another relaxing vacation with my fly rod. Hopefully, I want come across the rude individuals from last year who held no rspect for other people fishing!

Good luck on that, with all the reports it is a mad house of buttheads up there this year. Things I have seen so far other than out and out ripping with meat poles: Guys forming no pass lines across the river trapping fish from coming up Guy throwing large rocks in a pool to scare out fish. Guy chasing fish down small trib trying to grab it, no pole in hand. Guy holding large net in choke point of trib that was less than 6 feet wide, trying to net fish coming in. Guys herding and chasing fish ripping away when they get a chance. I have seen at least 3 treble hooks in fish so far this year. And of course catching a fish leaving it there to die Snagging the limit taking them to your car and coming back Leaving trash everywhere and my favorite Drunken A $ Z wipes treating the river as an excuse to drink, and place to get drunk and raise hell. Show a little respect. Drink in a bar or at home. If your wife does not allow you to drink at home there is a reason for it, behavior usually does not get better after a few drinks and neither do fishing or swimming skills. End of my rant

I have no problem with someone having a beer. As you note, there are those who abuse same, and they spoil it for everyone. The same conduct you've described is exactly what I'm talking about. I'm hoping to be able to fish between the idiots.

I find nothing wrong with enjoying a drink while on the river as long as it's done in moderation and you pack your cans out. It's when fishing on the river is your excuse to drink and to do it heavily and then be an azz. Water is fast, cold (especially in the winter) and can and will kill. It happens every few years and we all know what I am talking about, not saying they were all due to consumption, but if even one could have been avoided...............

Walk away from the parking lots and coolers full of beer and you'll find peace and plenty of fish to cast too.

Gotta say even the Russians I met mid river were decent and polite. Yea they were snagging and lifting but then its Follies season and 95% of everyone else out there was doin that too. It is what it is. Cmon November.

x3 for my too guy's. Even with my rant I can take the snagging. Been there done that trying something new now. It's the outright poor sportsmanship that I can't take.
