9/23
Got up at 5 and made it to a place where I thought they would bite by 6:15. I was rewarded with no one around at a spot I thought they would bite. A set of rapids that was 2.5 to 3 feet deep where you maybe could seem maybe not had some pockets and a pool below it and a pool above it with shallow rapids. Fish were moving well in pods of 2 to 4 fish every 10 to 15 minutes as I could see them enter the pool above. Started fishing at 6:37 and by 8 people were starting to filter in and by 9 it was a ZOO. I was again rewarded with no takes and only 1 lined 1 fish. All were kings that went by I saw no ho's.
I will keep chugging away at this , just like with the steel, and I know at some point I will get one to hit and actually land it. I have had 3 fish I "think " hit this fall , but never landed them to see where the hook was.
It was a mad house up there and it will only get worse, crowds are in full force. Fish are stacked up in pools and starting to get on gravel. Not as many dead ones as you would think.
The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing. ~Babylonian Proverb
