skein fishing

I saw a post with a guy claiming 27 hookups in four hours fishing the lake by the mouth of a trib....what would be the most efficient way to try this technique?....trebble?...weights?....floating it off the bottom....letting it sit still?...jigging...retrieving...and so on?....seems like a good bait if it gets so many bites....idk much about using it cause I fish small flies mainly

Fish it under a float. You can leave it sit still but sometimes you can reel it back in really slow and the fish will eat it.

Use treble hooks and also need the stretch nylon thread they sell at bait stores. I f you don't use the Thread it won't stay on the hook

Other than cranking spoons on the lake-no need for treble hooks for steelbows-ever.

Gotta disagree...I fish skank on a small treble under a float.

I don't always snag fish, but when I do...

Fair enough slick, but i think treble hooks just a bit too much-potential for snags with heavy concentrations of fish and hard to unhook sometimes.  The one time i used skein in my life i did just fine with a single hook.

A small treble COVERED in skank rarely snags. I never had a problem unhooking them. I just wrap the braid around my hand....and give a swift jerk. When the fish falls to the mud.....I give em a boot....never touching them with my hands, that would wipe off the protective slime.

    Skankalicious.
Triple the hooks, triple the fun!
Yank em and boot em and then you're all done!
