9-13 report
Today a neighboring fire chief and myself fished right below the Ringgold fire pavilion. From first light till we left at 2pm there was no less than 2 dozen fish in front of us the whole time. At times an estimate of about 40 just sat there stacked for our entertainment. Everyone upstream and down were battling fish all day. We took home 2 kings and released about 13 others. Word of caution if you decide to tail these kings, one male I was releasing bolted out of my hands without me checking for hooks and I took one to three fingers, two pretty bad and one that's borderline stitches. Lesson learned. Thanks to the smart guy that carried bandaids in his bag and helped me out. So far the piecing of one finger together seems to have worked with a well placed bandaid. Do know how long this truly amazing run will last but the lack of cars upstream should mean salmon are stacked up there somewhere.
