South Side 18th up to Warf

Fish Birmingham Bridge up to the Warf tossing rubber worms (june bug color) for 2 hours yesterday. Ended up with 6 smallies and a big daddy catty all on rubber. My buddy also go 5 smallies and we each missed a few. Was a good time and good to see the fish still active down on the Southside!!  Fish on !!

Nabbed this guy down at the Riverfront last week. Not a monster but not a dink either. I usually catch smallies pretty regularly down here, albeit mostly dinks. Finally found out how to get down to the river across at the tech park, going to give that another go today.

Drove out to the Yough yesterday for absolutely nothing, would have been better off just stickin to Southside

Just hopin I will hook a hog someday...I'm sure they're out there.

Skeeol Nice Smallie.....I hear ya on the dinks, but who cares your catching multiple fish and there are some Nice ones mixed in as well. Southside is as far as you need to go if you want good smallie action. Even better if you have a boat or kyak to float the shores. Alot of action = good times.... FISH ON!!

Great morning out today ...fished from 10:00-2:00 p.m ...switched it up and trolled today...cranks and harnesses. I nailed 4 smallies (mostly 12-13inchers), 1 large mouth (9 inches), 5 catfish (biggest 25), and 1 tiny striper. the majority coming off of harnesses. If i can figure out how to post a pictures I will throw a few up.  Oh and I fished from Birmingham Bridge up to the end of the Mon Warf... Both sides of the river.

    Overall good fun day.

Being I am still pretty much low on funds and can't make it out to the big pond or smaller lakes to go for walleye. I plan on trying for walleye around the city this weekend! from my lil boat ...has anyone fished around the city either the mon ohio or allegheny for walleye with any kind of success?

Typically when i fish local I target smallmouth or cats, So i'll be trying something different here. I know the lock 3 area is good for walleye and sauger but I am going to try and stay local (10 min drive to 18th street for me). Can anyone provide a good starting area around the city to fish for EYES?

Thanks for the HELP and as always i'll fill ya guys in on how I do and what worked.

Ive had a lot of success fishing just below the dam in sharpsburgh around the island in early spring and fall. Put some time in trolling cranks or drifting jigs around that island, once you find one...stick around...ill send you a pm for one spot in general...

Thanks, didn't make it out this weekend..i plan on definitelly next weekend for at least a day. I have never targeted them in that portion of the river so was just basically wondering if other people have and if they had any results doing so. I have caught plenty of decent sized sauger down by the island near the rocks, but never eyes.

It's good to know they're in their though. Can't wait to get out and target them.

Don't forget that the FLW 3-Rivers Challenge is this coming Fri-Sun.  I believe the tournament anglers can only fish within 3 miles of the point, so things might get awfully busy in that area.

That's right Esox ...thanks for the reminder! I believe they hit the water around 1:15 ..hopefully I am off by then. Typically these guys shoot up the locks...but if the 3 miles is correct it'll be nice to see what kind of fish they pull out.

Don't know what the eyes/sauger are up to but I haven't hooked one since early summer. Spotted bass have been runnin rampant however for the past couple of weeks. Nabbed this guy today and a few more.

I fished on the norf side on monday night.  Caught one rock bass and missed a few other bites.  It was my first time fishing there and its always nice to try new things.  It reminded me of fishing at twin lakes, with a better view.

Mon was still surprisingly low and clear yesterday even with the rain. I imagine it's higher today however.
