Only Electronics Allowed...Flashlights

My kids do have a fair amount of game systems, laptops, tablets. I always limit game and internet time, and this weekend...all electronics, off limits. The only battery operated devices they were allowed were flashlights.

I packed up the founding members of Team SnAgR and headed for the river:

My wife is a trooper when it comes to her share of the "work"

I drove us an hour and a half south to the secret spot....and unloaded. What a tremendous amount of gear I need to take the fam campin

My little family is developing a "program"...we Got camp set up as smoothly as it could go.

Complete with a poop shack for the women folk

Once again...the wife insists on doin her part. She's a gUuDwOmAn

Ahhh...camp is open, time to open a few of these...had to take it pretty easy, having them fam and all....but boy it sure was good

If your not taking one of the camping...do it. Easiest way to start a fire...even wet

I found out my kids have a drop of pyro in em...thier favorite ting to do was burn sticks, and draw pics with smoke..like it was a sparkler

The smores werent bad either

After a few smores...and a few hineys...my daughter got me to do the river pose with her. She takes a pic every year like this...who's the best Daddy?

We ended the evening listening to my kids sing campfire songs and watching them make shadow puppets. I was super grateful my children entertained themselves with more "primitive" things.

Fire

Whoo Hooo...kids r sleepin.....we made shawdow puffits after that.

A prepared shawdowpuffit maker has 19 flashlights

Ate steak for breakfast.....and went yakin/swimmin/sittin......shawdow puffit makin', rock throwin, crawded catchin event.....a blessed day.

The "River Pose"

Brooklynn Trout got tired....the good Big Brother hauled her upstream

Then they threw rocks....just fer fun

Crawdad Hunting

First try at at crawdad pays off....kid accomplishes like a pro at everything he touches...God likes him.

The hostage was released umharmed

Everyone was wiped out and in bed by 9:30....packed up camp....at DQ on the way home....great time had by all.

Instill this sheet on your kids while they r young...they'll come back to it...I did.

Did I mention my Taco effin hates camping. He glared at me me the entire time like u mother flucker... The sticks popping, the fire popping, the bb gun popping, the big dog animal pee, the sleeping outside....lmao...he's an indoor dog. I love him anyway...he'll protect the crap outta my house...my camp, maybe not so much.

Tacos safe spot inbetween teo logs 60 yds from camp

Afternoon relaxation...I decide ill make a few casts...my wife says..."I've been hearing how far u can cast...show me"

Now I'm gonna show off a little....I put all 9ft St Croix...med hev...20 lb pp....160lbs of me into it...and this is what I got first cast....game over....I got some torque runnin yo...only lure I brought from camp. Didnt even care.....now its a nature hike.

Anyway trip was flawless...No wind, no weather, no bugs, no injuries, no car troubles....no fish caught...and I loved it.  Heres the reason I went....I gots a guud woman...she earned it....pics says it all.

Gotta thank the Tonka Truck....it's badd azz.....fo real

Look for us next time......humbly submitted...

You're a good dad and husband. Your wife and kids will remember that trip the rest of their lives. We raised 3 girls camping for 18 years at Pymy, Kinzua and Lake Erie. Then they just flew the nest one by one. That was 25 yrs ago. We still talk about it when we get together. Took all the 8 mm movies and had them put on CD's. Sent them to  the two girls we have left. Our youngest past at 37. They loved them, showed them to their kids. Had one of them running into the water off the beach recorded backwards. The grandkids cracked up.Keep up the good work DAD!!!!!!

Nothing better than family having a great time together.  Reminds me of the times my kids went with us, now it's just the wife and I,they grow up you know.....now there is no time or there is family matters to attend. This week the wife, dog and I are headed to ANF for a week  of camping. Hope we have as much fun a you had. Thanks for the pics

Look to the heavens and thank God everyday that hunting is such a grand part of our lives.

Everything about this post makes you one of the coolest people I've never known.  Nothing shy of fantastic.

Nice job duud! and thanks for not posting the "adult" shadow puppets...

Didn't make it fishing this weekend either... Spent Sunday on the Allegheny with the wife and some friends skiiing and tubing. For some reason I didn't think that 20 years and 60 pounds would hurt my skiing prowess...  Let's just say that i put a hurtin' on that 115 horse but did manage to get up after puttin on the second ski...
