Tackle Unlimited... gee thanks :-(

Took an Okuma Catalina to Tackle Unlimited for drag disc repair. Tells me the bill will be $25. A guy there says you'll never get that reel back for less than $50. Says it'll be done in 1 week too. 2 weeks later I call and he says that he tried calling me "yesterday" and my cell doesn't work. Yeah ok buddy so what's the bill? $60!

And he says he couldn't leave the line on the reel to fix it so $60 worth of Mason Tiger braid in the garbage.

Let's see: $60 plus $60= new reel.

Gee thanks Tackle Unlimited. I learned 10 years ago but thought I'd give it another try. See you in ten years. NOT!

    Sux duud...

Next time just buy a new reel and put the line on from the old reel.

Lessons learned I guess , I only made that mistake once. Sorry it took you twice.

Wow, that's pretty bad.  You could have actually gotten 2 decent new reals for $120..

I have 2 Penn reels that need repairs.
I can fix them both myself but will probably sell them on ebay for parts or repair.
Medium ocean reel needs side plate with attachments and bearing.
Penn 7500SS spinning reel needs at least 1 bearing but I would prefer to replace them all.

Took 2 Shimano Sustains there back in 2004 to have them serviced/cleaned.  2 or so months later, I get them back and they feel worse than when I took them in.  Talked to the Shimano rep at the BASS Classic and found out I was not the only one to complain about their service.  He told me to send the newer one back to Shimano to have it looked at.....2 weeks later, a brand new one shows up in the mail.  Guess there was a warranty issue?

I had my spinning reel repaired at East End Angler in Harborcreek
for $20, while I waited. He said can't always do it on the spot, but turn around time is good depending on parts that are needed.
