Good move deetz and very sportsman like of you. Too many are in a hurry to crank them up in order to catch another as fast as possible. It's not rocket science, but there are many fisherman that don't realize the fish need to decompress. Scuba divers and experienced fisherman realize it and as often as it's discussed on this board, one would think more fisherman would realize it . I never vented a fish as it's not necessary. Reeling them up slow has to be less traumatic than venting them, even though it's an accepted method.
