Ive been running 1.5-1.7 when using inline weights and worm harnesses. And 2.0-3.2 when running plugs and spoons. I wouldnt waste two line on a rigger...they have taken a couple fish for me lately but its moslty dispys and board lines that are on fire. If you must run riggers I usually have luck running a deep diver back 40 or 50' then run the rigger ball well above your marks so the balls spook the fish less. If you are unsure with perch go walleye fishing first...watch your graph while trolling for schools of perch on the bottom, mark them on the gps then come back to those marks and perch fish when you are done walleye fishing. Straight out of walnut and the point are just the two most popular spots for perch but they can be caught anywhere. I had some huge schools of perch on my graph in 78' off Elk 2 weeks ago....
