Holy Steelhead!

Fished out of Walnut Sat. PM.  Launched at 3:30.  Didn't catch a fish 'till after 6PM but did 14 walleye and THIS Steelhead before racking rods at 8:40.  All walleye on planers w/ RR 200 back & 3oz.  Took one walleye and the Steelhead on rigger. Fish weighed 16# +/- on boat scale - 32"+.  Started E but finished 8.5 miles straight out of Walnut.

Nice Triple, I love to see them jump and dance out on the open water. Some a hole will probably reply that "you should have let it go, so I could catch in 25 times in the creek."

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!

Would have been happy to put him back but he was bleeding like a stuck hog before out of the net.  Surprisingly no tangled lines.  Hit and stayed down like a Laker.  Ran outside over top of diver rods once but came back without incident, pretty lucky there.  Fish could have easily wiped out the whole program.

Shoulda put it on a yellow rope and sat on the wall with a Zebco snoopy rod in your lawn chair...

    Nice fish, what a hog!

For you guys that fish the lake a lot; What has the walleye and steelhead bite been like recently out in the lake for this time of year.   Compared to other years has it been pretty avg, or more walleye / less steelhead, or more steelhead / less walleye?

Steel seems to be par for the course, but I'm catching a lot more brownies and lakers than I usually do this time of year.

Thanks all.  Be a way better fish 3 weekends from now in the EPSFA Summer Slam tournament.  Wish I'd had the time and/or thought of yellow rope, snoopy pole and a lawn chair on the wall.  That would be worth the effort.

Nice fish, true PA "TROPHY" fish there. Anything 15# and up considered a trophy fish in my book out of  PA.

I will be buying a snoopy rod and dedicating one trip to its use. Just because.

Nice fish!  I am hoping that we see plenty like it this fall. Even if not, that's a nice fish!

Could be the new "One Fly"... Everybody uses a snoopy rod and blue power bait, yellow rope optional... Hey, it's not like I could catch less...

The wife and I brought up a few friends one year to fish elk creek for steel. The one girl broght her Disney Princess rod up to use and actually caught a steelhead on it. if it was a foot longer she probably could have caught a few more, but she just couldn't set the hook witha the short rod in time before they spit her bait out. The one she landed basically hooked itself.

Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

I believe it. How about this? There have been a few pictures posted with fly rod and favorite brew. How about a snoopy series?
