7/11/12 Upper Reservoir

Back to a report. It is not the river, but part of it.
Went to the Res today for some perch.  Stopped by the hatchery first and there were 7 or 8 decent fish in the ladder only one could be distinguished as a brown the rest..........???
Put off at the Jackson road launch and the water was only about 4 feet up the concrete.   It is low for this time of year, but not by much and certainly not even close to as low as I have seen it.
The catch.  We only got 1 good perch about 10 inches and  3 or 4 smaller ones.   Quite a few decent bluegills and rockbass.   Got  a few smallies of average size and  4  largemouth.      The pan fish were filleted up and the bass returned.   Tomorrow we are going to Henderson Harbor.

Thanks for the info clint.sounds like a good time was had.... Id imagine they were mostly the same fish i saw the other day in the hatchery. Hopefully the reservoir can sustain the future flow increases they have scheduled. On another forum there is a post regarding major draught conditions comparable to 2007 and lake ontario surface temps near what should be mid august temps... hopefully something happens sometime or another. Regardless of water levels, i am thinking its still going to be an early run. Just hate to see the fish stressed and beat on too much by the "crowds" in low water...

Well we hit Henderson and Sackets Harbor today with not too much going on caught 1 large perch at 11 inches a few small ones, one bullhead and a few rock bass.   Redfield was much more productive, but it beats a day at work any day.
