bradys run... never would have guessed it

not huge but it's the biggest fish i've ever caught there.  usually nothing but small trout and small panfish.

nice fish but isn't that outfit a little heavy for that little pond.  perhaps it you went to some lighter weight riggings you would catch more.  just a thought.  best of luck in the future

Brady's Run was in the big bass program and still is. There were always big bass in there, just not huge numbers of them. Past surveys have showed this. After the lake was drained and refilled, they put some of the fish from Herdford Mannor in there when they drained it. Thats why they are big bull gills in there in the 1st year after it was filled back up. Trout, bass, panfish were put back in. So, if we give it a few years and get a a few good year classes of fish. It should be a good lake again. So if you like to eat panfish, please give a another year of breeding before the spawners make their way into your deep fryer. This spring my buddy sent me a pic of a stringer full of big gills from there. I told him, "don't you think you should let them spawn a least once, before you kill them ?" They Freakin lake was completly drained and they they put some breeding stock in from another lake and you got them on a yellow rope ! He was like, "Oh, I didn't think of that". I told him, if he wanted fish that bad, I buy him a fillet of fish from Micky D's.
    Just my thoughts..........

thats what happened at tamarack a few years ago. every legal fish was put on a stringer.  we saw 4 guys in a boat that had 7 musky on their stringers. not one was over 32''.  (before length & daily limit change)  people with stringers of bluegill & crappie then all of a sudden they are complaining cause theres no fish in the lake. now the lake is a big cesspool.

i stand corrected... i never realized bradys run was a big bass regs.

as for the lighter rigs... thanks for the advice.  i will go lighter for the next outing.

as for what people keep out of there... the shoreline is usually packed with trout fisherman or parents fishing for pan fish with kids. it seems most people keep every trout they catch down there but i don't recall ever seeing anyone keeping anything else... maybe i'm being naive about people not keeping pan fish (or bass) out of there. personally i can't imagine eating anything out of there.
