Depends on diameter. I like a uni splice for similar diameter, improved albright for heavy mono leader.

I use a small Barrel swivel in between and just use an improved clinch on both ends.

Same as bingsbaits, a small swivel, if not then an albright, but 99% of the time a smalll barrel swivel with improved clinch knots.

Are you guys reeling the swivel through the guides and into the reel? If you are...no lumps, bumps, or problems?

swivel through guides doesn't work out well... Short (castable) mono leader after swivel. reel up to swivel, then cast At least, that's how I roll.

In that case, I'd go blood knot. Harder to tie (for me anyway), but I've had uni/uni slip on a mono/braid connection.

I'm testing the Albright vs. the Alberto / Modified Albright. Alberto knot can be seen here (skip to 30 sec in): Practice it 3-4 times to learn it, then test it. Ties quickly once you get it down; I've only lost my leader on a few snags, typically tying 10 or 20# braid to 8-10 Fluoro. I find it easier than uni/uni when in the boat dealing with wind/waves.

I've no experience with trolling anything except these boards, but I connect fly line to backing with an albright knot. Whatever you decide on, I'd coat it in some Knot Sense or other glue that dries pliable.

Slick guys that I fish with that run leadcore tie swivels between sections of leadcore, their leaders, and there backing. The swivels are small enough they go through the guides and work very well. Also if you happen to drag a fish around the lake for a while it will help eliminate line twist. I would say if you were going to do this on a casting rod I would use the knots mentioned but otherwise the swivels will not give you any problem with a trolling set up.
