"IDidaRod"
You'll get the pun in a moment
.
I can remember when he started out...driving to camp with four kids and three dogs crammed into a 1985 Sunbird Coupe and the sled on a set of roof racks he got from Sears. Never thought it would become the passion it has for him. He's now been a musher for over 25 years, and he loves his dogs like his own children. So this Father's Day I decided to pay tribute not only to him, but to his enthusiasm. Looking forward to getting out on his boat and watching him put it to the lunkers...
Special thanks to Skip for not only turning this awesome Elk Antler reel seat, but for finding the hardware to match it:
First time doing a trim band. Very simple and basic, but I really felt like it made the rod "pop."
Ahead of the foregrip: (Skip made the decal for me on a waterslide...it's a picture taken during a race a couple of years ago).
Keep turning:
And he sees this when he fishes the rod:
And finally, ahead of this decal:
Custom gift wrapped in 3" Schedule 40:
Looking it over:
And not a dry eye in the room:
My Dad is a simple, humble, and good man who's never hurt a soul, never had an enemy. To know him is to love him. I wish I could be half the man he is.
