Jig mold?

Jig mold?

I started to cast my own jigs and I have been lookIng for ice jigs and ice ant molds. Any idea where I could find them?

    I don't think that you can buy them. You can buy a blank Do-It mold and have a machine shop mill it out. Most ice jigs are made by soldering the lead onto the hook. I've looked all over for ice jig molds. This is what I have found out. Maybe someone else has found something that I haven't though. If so, we'll both benefit. Let me know if you find anything.

    A few of the molds go down to 1/32 oz.

    If you can't find what you want make your own mold using Durhams Rock Hard Putty.  The mold wouldn't last forever but most I've made I have been able to get close to 100 jigs from each.  Once it breaks make another mold.
     
    I'm sure if you do a search you can find the instructions.  I put some on iceshanty a couple of years ago if you search there.  The one thing you must do is make sure the mold is completely dry before pouring any lead into it.
