Beaver river spots

I am wondering if anyone knows any good places to fish on the beaver river I'm looking to catch smallmouth and maybe some channel cats as well. People have said below the dam but I know that right below the beaver falls dam is pretty rapid but it does slow down shortly there after. I am just wondering if anyone has any good spots to try in that area. I was thinking of trying to fish right where the beaver opens into the Ohio but don't know of that would be any good or not. Any advice is appreciated

The folks you taked to were right - If you have a boat - any place in between the Fallston Bridge and the dam is good.  From shore by the dam is best and easy to access.  Down at the mouth its fairly shallow - cept for the channel.  Again not a problem if you have a boat.  From shore you could catch carp - mostly muddy bottom.

I live right in the area there but never really hit the river to hard just did alot of lake and pond fishing. I have only fished in the beaver twice. once down on the shoreline by the rochester bridge that goes from bridgewater to rochester and the other time we walked through the woods downstream from the beaver falls dam and we did catch fish both times but I never really fished it much so I dont know the good spots I know everyone tells me to go below the dam and I see people in boats all the time to the left when you are going towards new brighton on the fallston bridge. I know there is a dam right in that area but dont know where it is or how to get to it. I am hearing alot of people say they are having some good smallmouth action this year on the rivers so I am trying to find a spot where I can catch some smallmouth but I am always up to catch some channel cats its always fun to catch them. Thanks for the help

If you're into carp, fish it in Bridgewater. It's non stop action all day. Nothing big, but it's non stop action all day.

Well Im not really into carp but fishing is fishing and I feel like catching something is better than catching nothing so I might have to give it a try. Really looking for some good spots from sure for catfish and smallmouth but im not opposed to anything really. I was thinking of fishing down in bridgewater where they put that new little park back by thursdays resturante where the beaver opens into the ohio but wasnt sure I may just go and try some places and see how I do.

The Beaver is great for smallmouth. Access is not so great. The 10th street Dam in Beaver Falls is fantastic if you can get there with out killing yourself. There is no real access that is easy and or open to the public for walk in. If you have a kayak or canoe I suggest you launch at Big Rock Park in New Brighton and paddle up to the Island area above the PA 18 bridge.

If you are young and adventurous I suggest finding a way to walk/wade in. If your not afraid to wade you will have some fantastic fishing. It is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS area to wade. The bedrock from the dam down to the island is full of crater holes and large submerged rocks that will twist an ankle at best.
I have fished that area for almost 20 years, I used to wade it all day. I know where every walking route is that can be traversed safely and there are many.
Travel lite and dont go it alone. A small box with a few tube jigs, twister tails and #7 rapala's is all you need. Rebel crayfish too. Dusk and dawn are best bites. Used to have 30+ fish outings when evening wade fishing till almost dark.
As I get older I have traveled this water less and less, but it was for many years the only place I fished.  99% of all catches were Small mouth Bass, but stripers, pike, musky and walleye have been taken too.

Thank you for the help I fished there one time a long time ago we walked through the woods and found an opening where we could fish. We did not stay long but we did catch a nice small mouth while we were there. I would love to fish this area again I just dont know if it is even fishable from shore anymore I have never waded in my life and dont know if I want to start now I have heard if you come down ross hill behind morrow ford you can park under the bridge and walk back and there are some spots you can fish. I have never been back there either but if you know of any places to fish that area from shore it would be greatly appreciated.

How much more info do you want?  Go to the spots they told you and give them a try!  No offense, but the info you are looking for has been provided.  Now go find the fish!
