Clarion Outing in August

thinking about another outing along the Clarion river in cooks forest. anyone interested? how about a date suggestion?

there is fishing, floating and camping in the area.
able to rent canoes, kayaks or float tubes. if you don't have one.
i get a free campsight up river from the park for anyone wanting to camp out and enjoy our group.

WF will be putting up pics of giant cats taken out of the river.
there are smallies, trout, suckers, walleye in areas and some pan fish in spots.
you'll also see bald eagles and a great bikini hatch on sunny days.
you can canoe, tube, or kayak the river. also alot is wadeable and fishable from shore.

i get a big sight in the ANF along the river on wed, or thursday through sunday. a few people show up on friday eve and pitch a tent. the picnic is on saturday but some stay and camp saturday night also.
when we figure out a day i'll let everyone know. when i get the camp sight i'll let everyone know also and we usually have enough places to set up 4 or 5 tents.
the picnic will be in cooksburgh at the park.

You know I'll be there. This is a great time with exceptional company. The river is beautiful and sometimes fish even bite. The campsite DT picks is primative and beautiful. There are other campsites within a few miles if one wants more civilized camping. Always a good weekend.....WF

I was just fishing that area for four days last weekend.  Lots of bass, trout were spotty, as many big suckers as you wanted to catch, several eagles, and one very fun river otter right near the camping area.

DT -  you have to set a date for this yet so I can try to get the time off work to go.  Have you tentatively figured out when or is it still up in the air when you plan on having this???
