That's a good one, Cape!  Not so impressive around the GL, especially Erie, but for Vermont, it's a trophy. I spent alot of time chasing smallies there. Conn. River between Brattleboro and Bellows Falls, Champlain around Isle la Motte and St. Albans, Somerset and  Harriman Reservoirs, were some of my favorites.

For  sure not a GL Trophy  not even a vermont trophy ,but a good solid 4 + ,   we manage a dozen  4 + lb  Smallies a day ,  maybe one 5+ lb Smallie a week , and  if we are lucky we get one or 2  6 lbers a  year .  but not every year. 
always wanted to  head up  the the GL area for some Smallie fishing ,  maybe I will try  it next year ..
