Sorry, I'll be fishin for info soon myself. I'll be up there all next week. Haven't fished Erie in 3 weeks. Last time up they were post spawn, from what I was told, and we caught them in the Bay to some extent, but more on main lake 8-12 ft.

I'm sure it's summer patterns now - whatever those are ha I'm not sure. We usually have to fish for the scavengers / roaming bass in 18ft of less not far from the Bay, never get deep enough to hit any true schools of smallies.

If you're able to travel a bit or launch anywhere, I'm reading that around North East is producing for larger fish in schools. Wish I could run that far. Haven't seen any reports that provide specific depths.

Thanks misterZ ! We were up 3 weeks ago as well and drilled them in 6 to 10 ft. as well. When you reference North East what area are you talking about ? Shades Beach or farther down? Thanks and God Bless, hock

I believe it was referring to the town/marina North East, PA. Pretty sure if you check the PFBC regular reports in their site you'll see. I'm posting with my phone, once I get in my laptop I'll try to find you some links. Anyway I'm guessing it's the drop offs not far from NE Marina. I know their are a few common spots not too far from that launch which I believe is well past Shades and the "Ws".

I got a report from a few days ago that they were poundin them off of the north pier. So I suspect the usual shallow spots should produce fish.

The pier right outside the bay? Thanks for all the help! Can someone help me out with the w's and northeast marina area fishing wise? I have not fished them...how far off shore...depth? Is this near the dumps? Thx ahead of time! Do you think it is worth it to run out there or just fish the 15-22 foot depthsnear the cribs and shades?I know you can't be for sure..just looking for suggestions. Thx again and God Bless!

You don't have to "run" to North East. You can launch there.

Very nice! Wish I had a boat that could run that far safely and quickly. How do you guys feel about the creek mouths this time of year? I've fished the cribs so I've passed 4-mile. Never noticed any obvious creeks. Just a few "trickles of water" coming from shore on the way up to the cribs.

I've never run to 6-8 mile creeks on my own, maybe they're a bit better?

So on the map where is the area known as the w's? Is it the mountain? Do you think the fish are already into summer patterns? Thx for the help! God Bless, hock

I'll just PM what I know about these areas. Everyone on this site likely knows 10X what I do but hopefully I can help a bit.

Nope, just the normal summer slowdown on the site. Happens every year. Glad you can help--I don't get out in a boat much.

    Z,

Why not just launch at either 8 mile ( shades beach ), or at Noth East?

Hey spoon, I'm typically just renting boats out of PIB. Don't own one anymore. At times I'll get out with a buddy who has a nice bass boat, but he's out of commission for the year thanks to a back surgery.

Someday I'll get an Erie worthy boat. Until then I'm chasing smallies out of little 14 footers.
