New kayak

Im looking to buy a new sit on top kayak to fish out of. I'll mainly be using it on smaller rivers such as Shenango but will also be taking it out on smaller lakes. I think I've narrowed down my choices to either a Perception Sport Caster Angler or a Future Beach Angler 144. I just wanted to see if anybody on here owns or has used either one. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a perception caster angler that I had to return due to a defect that caused the hull to fill with about a gallon or so of water and the "dry" storage bag to leak. Phone was ruined. Other than that, it was ok. Sat pretty low though. Got some plugs for it, but any waves over 6 inches and I got wet.

I have not used either one of your choices , however I just recently purchased an  Ascend FS12T angler sit on top yak and absolutely love it. It sits high enough , tracks straight , very comfortable seat , 2 flush mount rod holders and front rod holder lots of surface storage area and bow dry hatch.  Here is a pic of my set up.  Love it.

Deetz, I actually saw that one on Bass Pros website. It looked nice on their site but I just wasn't sure how I would get it. Unfortunately the closest BPS is a couple hours drive and I can only imagine how much shipping would be on a 12 foot kayak. I'm wondering if you got yours at the store or what. If I could figure out a solution to that problem I would certainly consider that model as well.

The shipping charges can be found along with the price on BPS' website. Looked at one out of curiosity. It was $95 additional shipping charge. Imagine any others would be in that range.

Thanks spoon,I didn't even notice it. Too bad their free shipping promo wouldn't work on a kayak lol.

I haven't tried either one mentioned but I currently have a WS Ride 115. It is great for both rivers and smaller lakes. I still take it out anywhere, just might not get you around as quick as a longer yak. I love the 115, it is a fishing machine. Very stable, you can stand and fish and has plenty of room, 500ln capacity and is great for maneuvering in the rivers.
There are a few online stores that have great reputations and shipping may not be as bad as you think.
Check out austinkayak.com and Hook1 (kayakfishinggear.com). I ordered my kayak through Hook1, great service.

I have the Future Beach 144.  It seems like a great kayak so far.  I did order a better seat for it.  Memorial day we floated french creek for about 8 hrs..  The kayak did great, it floats high in the water so I wasn't dragging as much as some of my buddies.  Storage is awesome, the cup holders are positioned good, and the tackle tray was very useful.  I got mine for just over $400 with a $40 paddle with the 20% off coupon they always have.

Shake n bake , I had a new 2012 model shipped to the store in February and I drove out to the shop to get it 3 1/2 hrs.  I wanted to go see the store anyways so I bought it and some other gear while there and drove it home on top of the car. 7 total hrs of driving and spent 4 hrs in the store and still didnt see all of the store.

    Rockford OH  near Toledo OH

If I wasnt so excited about having it shipped to the store in Rockford I would have seen that the Store near Syracuse was 45 minutes closer to me

Well i decided to go with the Future Beach Angler.  Dunhams had it on sale along with paddles so I got both the kayak and the paddle for around $400.  I just had to go with that kind of deal.

I'm from North Fayette, kinda out by the airport. I ended up getting it at the store in Monroeville though cause the one closest to me didn't have one in stock.
