Raystown trip

Hope this works.
Had a nice charter at Raystown for lakers and stripers. The stripers were not active, but we got a few nice lake trout.
This was the biggest, 30" and 13lbs. 2012-05-25 11.57

He kinda just came to the surface and layed there, so we just netted him. The 7-8lber I caught fought harder, it freaked out at the boat and made two good strong runs.
But, I'm a trout geek and wanted a Laker sooo bad, I told the guide to net it. He wanted me to let it run some more for the fight. I just wanted the 1st one in the boat. We ended with only 5 lakers, no stripers and the big carp. But the day ended better than it started, we picked up 4 of the 5 in the last two hours, not much the 1st six.
Hey, but that's fishing. Just cause your are on a charter, doesn't mean you will catch fish. Nobody on the lake was catching stripers and the laker bite was slow all around. We marked fish (lakers) on the graph all day. They would just rise up and look or lightly nibble the bait and then sink back down. 4 of the 5 hit like a truck, one that we missed came back and ate it. We had like 8 or 9 hits (other than they five we hooked up on) that they just mouthed the bait and didn't really take it. So, if they fish were in the mood, we couldve gotten a bunch. Good giude, he found the fish and stayed on them. They just weren't that hungry.

We went with lunker guide service, but there are many to chose from. They were very good.
We have also gone out with trophy guide service in the past and got lakers with them too. The stripers there seem to be hit or miss. This was our 3rd charter there and still no stripers. But lakers are just fine by me. I'm a trout/salmon nerd. Haha.... the laker bite is spring/fall, they don't get too many in the summer, they go deep into the standing timberb and you cant get to them. We got these 25 deep in 80-100' of water chasing bait pods.
