Greenlick

Anyone been fishing Greenlick lately? I'm hoping to take my boys out on Saturday morning. Hopefully the bluegills will be cooperative.

Only fished for about an hour. When they weren't biting the boys got bored quick so we called it a day and went on to other adventures. Did see a guy catch two bass from a patch of reeds on the shoreline as we were packing up.

Fished Greenlick this morning for about an hour and a half and managed to hook into 6 but only landed 3 bass. One being a twenty incher. All on crankbits. Carp are in full spawning mode with a lot of schooling and splashing going on. To the best of my count there were 90 geese, a few ducks and three Whistling Swans resting on the lake. Beautiful morning to be out and watch the sun come up. I was hoping to see an Osprey but no luck. I was fortunate to have a plastic bag in my vest this morning to help gather a bunch of trash left by some buttheads yesterday or last night. The stuff sure stood out on the recently cut grass.

Wally , I was there Tues. evening, could only manage 4 small bass, the biggest was about 14" all on top. I also picked up a bag full of trash, the thing that peeved me was that some one had a picnic near the water & left the plates & leftovers right there. When I left the trash container was so full that I took my bag full home. I called the park yesterday to try to get them to pick it up before it all ends up on the parking lot. btw there was only 1 boat out when I was there. sam

I have fished it a couple times the last two weeks. Caught probably 50 Bluegill each time. Caught a small largemouth and what I believe was a spotted bass. It looked like a largemouth but didn't have their signature dark line down the side. I'm not very familiar with them. I also caught a small perch. I am not too proud to say that I really enjoy fishing for panfish.

Spent another two hours at GLick this morning same three swans there again but only a few geese. Did not hook any bass today but I saw a lot of small ones(8-12in) and one very large one that almost took a bluegill I was pulling in. Chased it for awhile but would not actually eat it. Chased the gill all the way out of the water. Got into a nice bunch of bull gills and had some fun catching and releasing them. Had I found them sooner I would have gone back to the car for the flyrod. They sure are little scrappers.
