Looking to try some new flat water

Looking to try some new water this weekend, rivers will probably be a little high for me so looking for some flat water.
Right now considering Yough River Lake, Lake Aurthur, Shenango or Wilhelm. I've never been on any of these listed. I'll be taking the kayak out.

Any advice or suggestions? Looking to find a good smallie or walleye lake.
Was in Erie last weekend, don't think I'll get the okay to go back this weekend

If it were me, I wouldn't be taking a kayak out on Yough Lake. I would be too afraid that a boat would either swamp me, capsize me, or hit me. The pleasure boaters are nuts on that lake. The fishermen are usually friendly and more than respectful, though. If you plan on going to the Yough, I highly suggest a larger, more stable boat. But, the Walleye and Smallies are plenty at the right time of year.

Yea, probably best to try Yough Lake or Shenango during the week. I believe Aurthur and Wilhelm are both 20hp limit so that may be a better bet.
Should be good day out tomorrow.

I going to the Yough lake, I'd recommend being on the water by dawn, and off by 11 am if in a kayak. For the reasons stated above.

If you're going to Shenango you can check out the 10 hp area as well as the no wake areas. These are nice places, especially in a kayak.

I'll have to check out the 10hp areas at Shenango. I've heard good things about that lake and need to check it out.

Yea, I've been to Loyalhanna quite a bit, looking for something new for awhile. Only done good a few times there.

    Thanks.
