The way they work the numbers they probably wouldn't adjust for anything even though they should (one day of additional archery being a possible exception). From 2005 when they srarted managing for a stable herd they dropped the herd by an additional 109,000 animals from 2005-2010 according to their own calculations. Last year they revised their deer numbers upward statewide and according to them we now have approx 1,500,000 deer again after a decade of herd reduction. Talk about B.S.

Actually an extra day of archery season would most likely not require any adjustments to the antlerless allocations. If archery harvests see a slight increase it simply means there are slightly fewer deer available during the firearms season which in turn results in a slightly lower harvest during the firearms season. So, it is all a wash in regards to the total deer harvest picture.

If they added an extra day or two to the firearms antlerless season they might have to adjust the allocations but probably not with just an extra day of archery season.

I agree, an extra day of archery will have a neglible affect.  My comments were more directed to additional days, like Sundays, that would require allocation adjustments in order for extra opportunity to be balanced with not increasing the harvest.

You have an antlerless tag for WMU XYZ.  At 7:01 on September 1st, you kill (harvest, whatever) a deer and utilize that tag.  You are now done for the year and it does not matter that there are 364 more days available does it?  How does increased days increase the harvest in that scenario?

You gave a scenario that it does not for one hunter so to say. That has nothing to do with the big picture. Its simple common sense. The more days the more kill, might not effect much but still more kills.
