PIB/ wind & waves

hey guys, im pretty new to PIB fishing and was hoping to get some insight on the threshold of wind speed and direction that make the bay unsafe to boat? i got a 18ft bass tracker. was hoping to get up there this weekend but it looks like rain saturday and 10mph wind from the ENE on sunday...thought i've seen someone post about the north wind not being too boat friendly on the bay? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any wind will kick up the bay if it blowing real good. BUT you can find a number of places that are protected from the wind and they will be fishable even with 15-20 mph winds.

With north winds most anywhere on the PI side will fish ok. South winds will produce fishing capabilities on the city side of the bay. The tricky winds are when they are due west and east.

Since the length of the bay runs west to east the winds will have a much easier time to build waves that can make the bay unsafe for boating/fishing. But as stated before there are places to fish in any wind direction within reason.

Just take note of the wind direction and speed , drive all the way around and find out first hand where the calmer waters are. There are a number of ramps located all the way around PI and you will surly find a place to fish somewheres.

Just remember if the winds build during the day , which is the case most of the time , Know where you are and have a backup plan in getting off the water. Or get off before you need to use that back up plan.
