even though it may be legal to use catch and release practices and fish for bass this time of year it is not ethical.just as fishing for other species that are spawning.their are so many species of fish in the sw corner of the state to choose from.if a accidental catch happens so be it ,but targeting bass in my opinion should be unlawful.try panfish instead since they are usually overabundant in 99 percent of commonwealth waters

Where did the OP say he was targeting bass? I must have missed something.

Think I may go out and try for somme carp today, need some carp chunks to bury under my tomato plants in about two weeks. Maybe that's why my tomatos smell fishy.

Though I did see a few bass on/making beds about a week ago, I think the population in that lake will be just fine.

Wally, That is an old Indian trick, which may be why you don't see any old Indians around. lol btw the bass that I have been seeing at Twin this week still seem to be in pre-spawn mode. Also the Carp spawn is a good thing ,because thier young provide food for the other fishys. sam
