Rabbit hunting

Hunted rabbits this morning by myself(no dog). Had a BLAST flushed 17 and got 4. I did have to work for them(thick stuff) but was well worth it. Can't wait to tell the 4 guys I invited to go how much fun they missed!! Also put out 4 doe and a buck. O I was hunting in Northern Union Co. Many guys complain there are no rabbits or deer. They are right there are no deer or rabbits IN their living rooms!!!  Good luck to any one else that GOES IN the WOODS or FIELDS!  I might even go back tomorrow morning.

That sounds like so much fun.  I haven't hunted rabbits in years, but I'm thinking of taking it up again.  I was disappointed in the amount of tracks I saw during the last week of rifle.  If I found a place where I could have half the flush rate that you did, I'd go tomorrow.

Heading out soon. Talked to 2 guys. One guy could not go BUT he wanted to know where my spot is. IMAGINE THAT!  Other guy yelled at me because of such a short notice! How could I have predicted that on Thur. Jan. 17th we would get an inch of snow? What makes me so mad is "hunters" blaming the GC about NO deer or game, but yet they will not go outside! Someone please explain this thinking to me. It must be from another planet.

The fox beat me to the rabbits! Flushed 7 got 1. Fresh fox tracks all over. Did see 5 deer though. Now I know I will be archery hunting this spot next fall. Was a pretty nice day to be out. Too bad a lot of the snow is melting(44 degrees). Knew I should have gone to Erie on my days off!!! Fishing was off the charts!

Where you guys at?  Rabbit populations are really down around here this year.

Opposite here in lawrence county, we have very few rabbits and too many hunters...I have dogs and actually shoot very few just so I can have some for them to run........We did do really well on Snowshoe hares in McKean co. after christmas though
