Fly Fishing for Pan fish

Hey guys... i am just getting into fly fishing, and was wondering what time of the year is best to catch some pan fish on a fly? i have never tried it before. i dont need spots or anything, just want to know if now is a good time. i live right by the bay so i can go hit anywhere on PI

    Any time really. But it will heat up here in a couple of weeks. Get some poppers and some sponge bodied "bugs" and have a blast.

    YuP ^^^ What beagler said. You can get em now in any shallow flats. From 2-4 fow. And find some weeded areas when fishing top water for them.
