So by that rationale, you'd also rule out crankbaits and spinnerbaits?

I don't really care, I just don't understand what you're trying to say, or who you're talking to. I've been saying that since I got to this forum, but people scolded me for it. you're on such a higher level than those that fish lures and jigs now that your chucking a piece of yarn on a hook... Or pieces of rubber. He says he uses Trout Magnets. But those don't say "bait" in the name, so I guess they're okay? But they do say Trout, so maybe they're fish? In that case, they're not allowed.

What is wrong with you dude. You are arrogant beyond belief. Im giving you advice. Power worms suck. It says in the rules and regs, FISHBAIT!!!!! So a powerbait in my opinion would be ILLEGAL!!!! Trout magnets have no scent you pop em through a hole and the fish go NUTS!!! Its sad I ran into a guy last week on the creek. He knew me and said hey " YOu're the kid who got the guys pants in a bunch by calling that fish a palimino" I said "haha ya thats me" He said "brush it off kid that guy is just looking for trouble" Almost like the purpose of this thread. If you're not willing to take any advice from any of us than why post it, as soon as someone has an opinion different from yours you back it with you're skewed logic. Thats my opinnion thats all.

It's like a lot of things, they hit them at certain and times and at times they don't, I've never had a day where I could use them and consistently catch fish

I have to agree with Sevenmileshowcase on one major point. Trout magnets will outfish power worms or pretty much any other artifical lure on almost any given stream. Forget the stupid powerworms, get some trout magnets, go fish and have a great time!

Seriously, thank you. I found its a lot more entertaining, requires some skill and produces more fish. If you look up videos on YouTube you can find some really good ways to fish em

ORIGINAL: verbatim I'm more likely to use them and then challenge it in court if/when I run into a problem. Still, it's pretty ridiculous that's it's so difficult to find out what the regulations actually are. You can find all federal, state and municipal laws online, along with case law, interpretations, etc. It shouldn't be so tough to find out what kind of fishing lure you can cast into a stream for god's sake. This... or avoid the controversy and stay safe. I've never been one to stay safe. If you do pay a fine then let's hope that they use the money to figure out how to word things better.

I believe the name of the company is berkley, and powerbait is the name of the product ,or bait. on the other hand what deems edible, I have cleaned fish over the years and found both powerbait and gulp in stomach contents, so it must be edible. it's just typical nonesense from the pfbc, they put a lot of things into gray areas.

Powerbait is just a sub brand of berkley, not just bait. Go on berkley's site, click powerbait, swimbaits, jigs, worms, lots of rubber stuff.

When the rule changed we had a tackle shop and we were a license selling agent so we got responses from Harrisburg, the southwest headquarters and an office in our store who we showed the package of Berkley Power Worms. I wantede to be certain before selling these to our customers and them using them in a DHALO area and when the rule change went into effect the answer from all PFBC sources was- Da Dat Dat Da Da, Power Worms are legal to use in the DHOLA sections of the stream. The rule change came about because of some soft plastic molded minnow called a gummy minnow if I remember right that was a new generation fly at the time. My suggestion for DHOLA fish is any junkfood fly or plastic through July till these fish have an actual diet of insects establshed. they are still just stockies. This rule doesn't apply 100% of the time but it work most of the time for me. Fly representations seem to work well in the middle to late summer when other baits fail.

FYI - I'm pretty sure, in this same section of the regs book, "fishbait" is defined... Not sure if Berkley/Powerbait or any lure manufaturers sell what PFBC's definition is. As for the topic at hand, I'm with those that have mentioned (or to the extent of), if you are unsure, then it likely wasn't meant to be used. The Delayed Harvest areas are meant to be a bit more challenging areas to fish. If you aren't sure if something can be used, don't take it along. I'm sure most of you are like me, and have every pocket in your vest filled with different things to toss, and unless on the water getting the old skunkeroo for 8 hours, 2/3 of what you are carrying doesn't see a line through it's eye hole. Until there is a clear explanation, I personally don't see the risk vs. reward. Especially, since you can tie on a pipe cleaner (San Juan worm) and catch just as many fish as powerworms and be legal. Although, you may feel bad for those little fish being that dumb, to eat something so rediculous.

" I have cleaned fish over the years and found both powerbait and gulp in stomach contents, so it must be edible.' I've watched people swallow stuff from Taco Bell. That doesn't mean it's edible, or "food"

powerworms are so awesome they should be illegal. especially if you cut them in 1 inch segments, split the tail, and use it like a trout magnet. ive been searched twice, and had them both times....(not in the pack they came in though)...and I didnt get warned or fined.... one fishcop gave me crap about having a few loose red beads....but hey, they looked like fireballs....so I really cant blame him.

"They are scented and in my book, illegal, a fish would try and eat something if it was scented." What do you think they are trying to do with those flys, or spinners, French kiss them?
