Mon river locks?

Mon river locks?

I should know this but I don't, if I was to launch out of speers can I get to California, Brownsville area without going through a lock and dam? I believe I would if I wanted to go to the yough from there am I correct? Thanks to all!

    If you launched at Speers, no you wouldn't, if you go further from Brownsville to like Fredericktown, you'd have to go thru the Maxwell locks, if you head north towards the Yough, you would have to go thru Lock 4 and the 1 at Elizabeth.

    HardCore is correct. It would be alot easier to launch at either the ramp right at the mouth of the Yough where it meets the Mon--or just below the Eliz. Dam at that launch.

    Fished speers yesterday (4-2) from 4 until 6:45ish. 6 smallies between the two of us. 4 only about 9 inches, partner had a 13.5 I landed a 15.5. Good day, and got stinky fingers for the first time this year.... Dont bother locking out, speers pool is nice. If i could figure out pic posting i would but not worth my time or effort.
