Bait

So here's a question that I hope someone knows the answer to: Last year, I got permission to trap bait out of a stream on posted property near my house. We took from it pretty hard but were careful not to clear it out. What I'm wondering is how long will it take to replenish the population of shiners and chubs from the holes that we trapped in? Do I have to leave those spots alone for a year and just move up or downstream or will they be back in those holes again this season? Thanks.

i've been trapping in the creek in my back yard since i was about 10. it usually takes about a day for my spots to fill back up with baitfish. as long as there is adequate food and shelter there will be plenty of minnows. the only time i don't trap the creek is when the wild bows are moving through for their spawn.  

ive been trapping bait in the same small creek by my house for a long time. it doesnt take long for them to come back.

remember if it is approved trout water it is closed until opening day, even from taking bait fish!
