Last Nights Freeze

What does the freeze mean for the fruit crops? I know the apple trees, where I hunt toward Albion all started to bud. Probably kiss apples goodbye this year? There were millions of apples last year, and none the previous 2 years. Anyone hip on this subject can give me some insight?

It's going to be hard for anything to survive last nights temps.
It was 22 degrees here and even colder in the valleys.
None of my fruit tress were in bloom so mine should be ok.

Look to the heavens and thank God everyday that hunting is such a grand part of our lives.

Any buds that are out are toast. It's 16 here. The good thing here is most trees were not fully out which should save some of them. Still a long ways to go before they are safe though.

How long before we can tell what kind of damage the freeze caused?

I saw the dogwoods dropped all their flowers and the leaves browned already, but they are pretty fragile trees. I didn't notice any damage to the apples yet. I'm also in Erie, so I don't think our temps dropped as low as inland.

22 W.Pa. and eastern Ohio, plums and peaches are toast, apples got hit hard also. In 4 or 5 days you will be able to tell just how much damage, but it's bad.

Covered my dwarf apple tree when the freezing weather returned . As far as the trees where you mentioned BH ? Maybe some will make the fruit have to wait and see. There are some nice Bartlet pears just across the border from R Ns property line also.

I have some February Daphne growing wild on the back hill that was in full bloom that got wiped out but my apples seem to have survived for the most part. The emerging clover in a food plot I checked looks sick right now. Still 6 weeks or more before we are out of the woods. Two years ago we got a hard frost on May 26 and 27.
