Be carefull about saying things like "trout season" and "bass season",,you'll get hammered with comments by people saying about how they've been fishing all year,,but I agree I'm looking forward to them both myself.

From what I hear bass are already on the beds in some lakes! In march! Crazy spring. Catman I know exactly what he meant, but with such a mild winter, I only had 1 day all winter with "poor" fishing conditions. If the rivers and streams were blown out, the lakes were open water. It was like fall went right into spring, my 2 favorite times to fish. About 3 more degrees and ill be hitting the rivers for flatheads, in freaking April! Never targeted them before late may due to low water temp.

I don't eat catfish anymore. One day I caught one, it was the most fun I ever had catching a fish and when i held him, he started talking to me. I respected that fish, and I promised him i wouldn't hurt his kind ever again, but crappies ..well, those are fair game.
