Pike fishing....?

Hey guys I was looking into Pike fishing for the first time this year.

When do the pike start moving around in the bay?

I guess its normally the early spring right?  Could it possibly start a bit earlier this year with the warmer than normal weather?

Thanks guys

Maybe because you might have answered your own question. Just a guess.

Went down to PI to make a few casts. Didnt get a bite. Air temps were in the high 40s and was nice to just get out for a few hours. Still a little early for bass at least...need a few weeks of warm weather before anything really turns on.

From my limited experience, they start up in the lagoons first to spawn My guess is they would be  active end of March mid-April in the ponds before the spawn, once they start mating, I think it gets a bit tougher until they finish and move back out into the bay. Here is a nice little article from last year that explains it in greater detail
