When should we be ready?

This will be the first year we will be fishing by boat on Erie. We will be getting it out of storage in March and rigging up the electronics. We want to fish smallmouth, perch and troll for eyes. When should we be ready for each of those? I know the smallies kick up around April but when can we expect to start getting perch and eyes?

When do the eyes start heating up on Pymatuning?

We want to make sure we are ready in time for each of them.

Thanks!

when the lake warms up the perch and walleyes migrate here. Anywhere from may to sept for the good fishin. August is usually on fire. i go smallie fishin in May.

If you plan on traveling the Oak Harbor Ohio area will be starting soon. I have read some reports of a few walleye being caught already. We start hitting it in late March early April through 1st of June.

April & May are your best bet.

I have fished out of Fenwick from Crane Creek to Turtle Creek and picked up lots of limits over the years in March weather permitting. If you need some good reports starting in March contact The Happy Hooker Bait and Tackle in Oak Harbor.
